Coming soon: 2020 Bottle Release

In the early days of this pandemic I posted on my Instagram stories that I wanted to release some bottles but wasn’t sure if I should wait. I asked our followers for their input. At the time I was not taking COVID-19 as seriously as perhaps I should have… but even with what little information I had there was something telling me to hold off. Wait for the dust to settle. A minority of our followers on IG agreed… and despite the supporters who wanted the beers now, I pulled back. Little did I know that the dust wouldn’t be settling anytime soon and that the entire beer industry was about to pivot.

It’s now been 45+ days since shelter-in-place went into effect. I want you to try these beers. I want to share with our friends and family these bottles that have been in the works over a year. I also want to stop stressing about the exact right moment to share them. I still have concerns about our beers getting lost in the current mix of breweries in a panic and the bottles not being presented or experienced in the way I’d prefer. However, as I said, It doesn’t appear things are going back to normal very soon. So let’s go for it….

We will be announcing very soon when and where you will be able to purchase bottles of our creations. You can expect to see 500ml bottles available in sets of three and six as well as some 750ml bottles from the cellar. We also have some very limited (low single digit) bottles of some fruit experiments that will be available that had previously only been for consumption at Shady Oak during our SF Beer Week event. In total we are putting up around 350(ish) bottles for sale.

If all goes as planned, the majority of these beers will also be available for shipping throughout the state of California. More info on that later.

Following our Indiegogo campaign in 2018 we purchased some barrels, racks, and other equipment and have been storing it at Shady Oak Barrels House in Santa Rosa, CA. Together with Steve Doty (owner of SOBH) we have been using those barrels to create some very interesting beers that are guided by our ethos and preferences. All our beers are legally owned, brewed, bottled, and sold by Shady Oak… but Steve has never stopped us from creating beers that represent us and give us an opportunity to show folks what we’re capable of. With his help I can now share with you the beers I’ve been working on. My hope is that this will be a step toward being more than a homebrewer.

More info coming soon. Stay tuned.

Cheers!
- Tim
